In the name of Allah, praise be to Allah, peace and blessings be upon the Messenger of Allah, and those who followed…

Both the past and the present have witnessed the failure of the economical theories that were made by humans in achieving the psychological and moral security alongside materialistic security for humans. This is because these theories have regarded the human-being as an organic creature that only cares for satisfying his instincts, desires and materialistic needs without any ethical or spiritual considerations. This led to the aggravation of problems whether it was on a financial, social or cultural level such as unemployment, inflation, family disintegration, immorality, absence of identity.
That was due to the nature of these theories, which were made by humans, in the first place. These theories depended on the mind as a source of knowledge though minds do not comprehend everything. This is what the Islamic financial system has spotted before by not omitting the mind, but elevating its importance in a frame that governs it by the Holy Qur'an and sunnah. Thus, the mind would perform its role as a means to acquire knowledge, not as the sole source of knowledge. Hence there was no conflict between the mind and religion because Allah created the mind and revealed religion to guide the mind.
In Islam, the financial system derives its foundations and approach from the comprehensiveness of Islam itself and the rules and regulations that it contained to realize moral and materialistic security for all humans "[1] for the taming of the Quraish, [2] the caravans to set forth safe in winter, and in summer, [3] So let them worship the Lord of this House. [4] Who has fed them against hunger, and has made them safe from fear." (Quraysh / 1-4). It is a dogmatic system that is fundamentally and closely-related to monotheism when it comes to worshipping, faith and ethics, it takes the human instinct into account, consolidates the morality concepts and emphasizes fulfilling society needs.
The purpose of an economic system in Islam is enabling human to do the role he was entrusted with on earth by Allah which is building, construction and rehabilitation not vandalism and destruction "He brought you forth from the earth and settled you therein" (Hud / 61). The financial methodology in Islam is comprehensive starting with the matter of succession, considering that all money belongs to Allah – Almighty – and all humans are successors for the money according to the will of Allah – Almighty – and so, the rules that govern profits, wealth distribution and circulation.
Islam is a religion that directs to implementing strengths – including economic strength – as means to achieve the purpose of human on earth. It is not meant to be regarded as a goal on its own – as it is regarded in western systems – which would eventually lead to corruption on earth "But seek, with that (wealth) which Allâh has bestowed on you, the home of the Hereafter, and forget not your portion of lawful enjoyment in this world; and do good as Allâh has been good to you, and seek not mischief in the land. Verily, Allâh likes not the Mufsidûn (those who commit great crimes and sins, oppressors, tyrants, mischief-makers, corrupts)." (Al-Qasas / 77), "Eat and drink of that which Allâh has provided and do not act corruptly, making mischief on the earth." (Al-Baqara / 60).
The power of the Islamic economics as a science is in its being an instructional science that not is not limited by the economical behavior including production, consumption, distribution and management only, but also towards rational human behaviour that achieves balance between the psychological and materialistic sides. That is achieved by using the scales of justice and divine benevolence which was ordered by Allah – Almighty – "[90] Verily, Allâh enjoins Al-'dl (i.e. justice and worshipping none but Allâh Alone - Islâmic Monotheism) and Al-Ihsân (i.e. to be patient in performing your duties to Allâh, totally for Allâh's sake and in accordance with the Sunnah (legal ways) of the Prophet (peace be upon him in a perfect manner)" (An-Nahl / 90).
This website's mission in this context is to provide a clear and simplified perspective of the Islamic economics for both the average and the specialist readers. I pray that this work would be solely for Allah and that it would be a beneficial knowledge and ongoing charity for a day when money and sons would not help except for those who come to Allah with a sound heart.
